Definitive Faux-Hip-Hop - Essentially, this is Hip-Hop for people who normally would never listen to Hip-Hop. This is the kind of album, which as a hip-hop fan, is recommended to you by your friend who normally listens to fall out boy because he knows you re into hip-hop. This is a very feminine, wannabe-poetic attempt at intelligent rap. The lyrics are mostly Slug s complaints about girls. The beats can be almost decent on some songs, but are generally diluted by some kinda of artsy elements. If you want hip-hop that isn t about money and violence, please don t think this junk is your only option.Atmosphere and the whole rhymesayer s posse are making underground hip-hop look bad. Yes, I said it.
CLASSIC - This cd defines my freshman year in college..... if not for this album I would ve never survived.....
Perfect - National Disgrace was the video that I fell in love with. I happened to see Atmosphere on a sampler DVD released from Epitaph records. I m into the type of bands that are on Epitaph and generally don t listen to any hip hop at all. But I was so mezmerized by Slug s voice and the music video, that I had to buy their album. Currently, I have 6 of their albums and they re all amazing. The lyrics are my main reason for loving Atmosphere. The words actually mean something, rare with a lot of rap/ hip hop artists. But Atmosphere has something special, and I m glad I found them.
Seven out of 5 stars - This was my first Atmosphere album. I stumbled upon it while at Best Buy looking for CDs. I saw it everytime I went. I said, Fine, I ll take a chance on you. You better be worth it. And.. it was. As I sat there on my couch listening to it.. I thought.. Damn.. He s (They are) pretty good. Been hooked since. I own them all now. If you want to listen to real Hip Hop that doesn t involve guns, rims, boasting & crack.. then this is a great album for you. Nothing flashy, just his outlook on life. Try something different.. you ll like it.
another great album from the mic poet - slug is one of the best rappers ive ever heard. he tears up every track hes on. he really makes you get into the music, its a talent he has. hes a lyrical genius no doubt. this album is one of my favorites. all the songs are great from start to finish. buy this album if you are an atmosphere fan or are a fan of true hip hop. give it a chance, you wont be dissappointed.
